It is beyond doubt that the painter aims to tell us that everyone, especially college students, should have the spirit of creation and innovation. To put it another way, innovation is an essential and indispensable role for anyone who wants to succeed. This can be directly attributed to the fact that one may be caught in dilemma, at least once in life. Such a dilemma may coincidentally be most difficult period in his life. Then there are two choices before him: making a creative choice or an easier one. If he chooses the former and tries to break through the barrier, difficult as it will be, success will be the result one day. However, although it seems to be much easier for him at the moment, the latter choice may kill off his dream and ambition, and such choice then will be a pity all his life.
As college student, definitely, we are facing or will face many difficulties. As can be seen in the“The Time to Select Course” picture, a college student is hesitating over with optional courses : one of them is described as easier pass, higher scores, fewer assignments while the other is generally accepted with more challenging knowledge and innovation .
It is obvious to reveal the dilemma facing a number of college students in their accademic work, that is to say, they have realzied the difficult one is important for further development, but tend to choose the easier path. A number of factors may account for this phenomenon, but the leading one might be the fact that the grade is the only one that counts in calculating a student's overall GPA which is closely related to scholarships, opportunities to study abroad and job hunting. Also, there are a host of studnets as yet unaware of such a disadvantage---one will out in competitive market if he fails to master a cutting-edge knowledge and skill,which is another concern.
Therefore, from school's perspective, it is sensible to better the criterion and adjust teaching plan reasonably, and arrange courses. Of course, it is impertative that students shift towards embracing challenging but rewarding course.
