虽然大部分学生在小学已接触过英语，但学生以前不大重视英语，造成英语两极分化严重，且学习积极性低。所以，现阶段最重要的是激发学生学习英语的兴趣和积极性，帮助他们增强信心，克服困难。除了从思想上给予引导之外，在教学上，有针对性、目的性、有系统、有计划地上好课。
我所教的本届七年级新生基础很差，由于在小学英语课并未受到足够的重视，学生在写的技能方面基本上没有得到过训练，经过上学期的不懈努力，他们的基础知识得到了加强，学习态度也有所好转。部分学生有了主动学习的动力，但是整体的惰性还是很强，我要积极主动的帮助他们重新建立学习兴趣。初一年级是英语学习的基础阶段,也是养成好习惯的关键时期。基础打不好、习惯不良，直接影响学生整个初中阶段，乃至高中、大学的英语学习。所以做好初一英语的教学工作至关重要。
三、教材分析：
本册书主要介绍了日常生活的交际用语以及一些西方国家的文化背景和风俗习惯，教材通俗易懂，旨在使七年级学生基本能用英语进行简单的交流。本册书由两部分组成，即预备篇(3个单元)和正式篇(9个单元)。本书除提供语言材料外，还配有大量插图和原声录音磁带。
四、教学目标：
通过努力，力求每一位学生能开口讲英语，能用英语进行简单的会话。通过努力使大部分学生继续保持学英语的兴趣。能保持浓厚的学习英语兴趣和积极主动参与实践，以点带面，力争达学校教学质量的要求。
五、教学措施和方法
措施：
1.培养学习兴趣，引导学生掌握正确的学习方法和策略，提高学习效率;
2.发挥学生主体和教师主导作用：

George showed me to the guestroom which, he said, was rarely used. He told me to unpack my things and then come down to dinner. After I had stacked my shirts and underclothes in two empty drawers, I decided to hang in the cupboard one of the two suits I had brought with me. I opened the cupboard door and then stood in front of it petrified. A skeleton was dangling before my eyes. The sudden movement of the door made it sway slightly and it gave me the impression that it was about to leap out at me. Dropping my suit, I dashed downstairs to tell George. This was worse than 'a terrible secret'; this was a real skeleton ! But George was unsympathetic. 'Oh, that,' he said with a smile as if he were talking about an old friend. 'That's Sebastian. You forget that I was a medical student once upon a time.'
